The final of the Billy & Mary Ramsbottom Memorial is the standout of a quality-packed card at Kilkenny this evening.
There are actually three finals up for decision, while there will also be plenty of interest in the opening round of the Retired Greyhound Trust ON2 525.
CANON TO FIRE
Burgess Canon may be a veteran but he is in tremendous form and can prove difficult to stop in the Ramsbottom Memorial.
The Paraic Campion trained son of Droopys Sydney came home clear in each of his last two starts, winning in 29.10 and 29.08.
Tarsna Blaze is the most obvious threat. He too comes into this contest on the back of two fine wins and is perfectly housed in the stripes. If trapping on terms he could again go close but Burgess Canon is difficult to oppose. He is chosen to make every inch from trap two.
Of the remainder, Lemon Milo and Lemon Herbie are also respected but Burgess Canon and Tarsna Blaze can quickly come to the fore.
WARRIOR TO SEE OFF SOME TALENTED RIVALS
The final of the Boylesports Bookmakers A1/A2 525 is an open affair.
There is very little between the six on recent clocks but Lemon Mundy sets the standard after dominating from the outset in the semis to win by a length and a half from Zenith Mikmacker in 28.96.
Comer Rover also won well last week, making all in 29.04. He is drawn in two and can also get involved, while Kapuka Warrior and Mission Control must also be shown plenty of respect. The opening exchanges could have a big say in the outcome but slight preference is for the proven Kapuka Warrior. If making one of his better starts, the son of Good News can dominate to see off Lemon Mundy and Comer Rover.
LUCY THE CHOICE IN A4 BITCH DECIDER
Faithful Lucy is the one to beat in the final of the Greyhounds Make Great Pets A4 Bitch.
A good winner of her semi-final, she can again get loose early to come home clear of Swift Jagarati and Ninja Jamella.
